Clinical Trials in Rheumatology

How can this event help me?

Clinical trials play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of rheumatic conditions and improving treatment options. If you're interested in learning more about how clinical trials work and their impact on the treatment landscape for conditions like arthritis, this session will provide insights into the current clinical trial process and how it relates to rheumatology. Rheumatologist Dr. Andrew Jordan will guide you through the importance of clinical trials, how they are conducted, and how you can participate in them.

Join Dr. Andrew Jordan for an informative session where he'll cover:

  • What Are Clinical Trials?: Understand the role of clinical trials in the development of new treatments, including how they help researchers test the safety and effectiveness of new drugs or therapies for rheumatic conditions.
  • The Clinical Trial Process: Explore the phases of clinical trials, from early-stage studies to large-scale trials, and learn how each phase contributes to the approval of new treatments.
  • Importance for Rheumatology: Discover how clinical trials are helping to advance rheumatology, with a focus on conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and osteoarthritis.
  • How to Participate: Learn about the process for enrolling in clinical trials, what to expect during participation, and the potential benefits and risks involved. Dr. Jordan will discuss how patients with rheumatic conditions can get involved in trials.
  • Ethics and Safety: Gain a better understanding of the ethical guidelines that protect participants and ensure that clinical trials are conducted safely and responsibly.

Whether you're interested in understanding more about clinical trials in rheumatology or considering participation in one, this session will provide valuable information to guide your decisions. Join us on Wednesday, August 20th at 8:00 PM AEST for this live virtual event. As always, we welcome your questions and discussions to make this an engaging and supportive experience for everyone.
